Background

Hi, I’m Laura- a clinical psychologist and EMDR therapist. I have worked within adult mental healthcare for over 12 years, specialising in NHS acute crisis care for suicidality and complex mental health difficulties.

I am passionate about coming alongside people to truly understand their story.

When working with people at dark times in their life, I feel it is important to use our shared wisdom to make sense of why difficulties have arisen and provide hope for a brighter future.

I draw on my knowledge of various therapeutic models to suggest techniques and solutions that may help. In particular I often draw on training in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (CFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Ultimately I aim for therapy to be a compassionate and rewarding experience where you feel understood, cared for and challenged to succeed.

As well as individual therapy I offer consultation, training and supervision to other therapists and healthcare professionals. Please see my website for further details.
