The Counselling & Psychotherapy Centre in Swindon was set up to hire out rooms to private practitioner therapists and to create a centre of excellence for talking therapies in the locality.
We thought long and hard about the optimum conditions in which therapy takes place. Firstly, we have made calm and supportive environment for therapists. We made the rooms comfortable, secure, stylish and have provided all the niceties that engender a feeling of being cared for. There are always balm tissues, soft towels, cushions, tea, coffee and biscuits
We know that one of the stumbling blocks for therapists is publicity so we developed our website to offer each therapist a page of their own, detailing their practice model and specialisms. We provide a template for this to make it straightforward. We work on the website regularly to ensure it comes high on the Google list. The Centre is advertised weekly in The Swindon Advertiser, The Wiltshire Gazette, The Star and on Newsquest social media. Therapists can elect to advertise their names in each of these adverts.
The underpinning of each therapist’s practice is also important to us. We ensure each is well-qualified, supervised, insured and in professional good-standing. We offer mentoring and support sessions for those therapists who are new to private practice or who would like help in areas such as business structure, tax, publicity, websites, continued professional development trainings and networking.
Our Centre has a large database and good connections with other centres across the South-West. Our CPD events draw participants from far and wide. If the therapists wish to advertise their events at The Centre, we will publicise on their behalf. This is at our discretion.
There are five rooms, all suitable for couples or individual Counselling. One of these is large enough to use for family therapy, groups or training workshops. The therapy rooms are furnished with large leather chairs with cushions, solid oak side tables, classic floor and table lamps, plants and framed photos or pictures of landscapes.
We are offering qualified Counsellors/ Psychotherapists, Supervisors and Trainers the opportunity to hire rooms.
