Having graduated with a BSc Hons in Building Surveying, I worked for local authorities and the MOD as a Project Manager until I had my first child, when I needed help and support. I trained to become an NCT Breastfeeding Counsellor and from there, decided to gain my Diploma in Counselling alongside studying for my BSc Hons in Psychology.
I have been working as a Counsellor for over 10 years and two years ago, I decided that I wanted to increase my qualifications and experience, and enrolled on the Professional Doctorate (PhD) in Counselling Psychology at the University of the West of England, which is why I am now working as a Trainee Counselling Psychologist. I am in the second year of my PhD, which is based in the Psychodynamic modality, twinned with a Humanistic perspective. I work from an Evidence Based perspective, which means that all the techniques I utilise have a Scientific basis to them, and have been fully researched.
As a Trainee Counselling Psychologist I am governed by the British Psychological Society, as a Graduate Member and I am bound by the ethical framework that the BPS use. I am fully insured and hold several DBS certificates.
I am available for both short and long term counselling, as guided by you, the client.

I have been working as a therapist for over 10 years, and work with young people, couples and individuals. I am experienced in working with a wide variety of issues, and owing to having had ‘turbulent’ teenage years, I work well with young people and can establish a good rapport with them.
I work from an Integrative Perspective, which means that I utilise many different modalities in the therapeutic arena- simply put, I adapt and change the techniques that I use with each client, as each clients issues are individual and unique to them. My work is grounded in the Person Centered approach, but I utilise Systems Theory and Attachment theory as a basis for my work.
I also work in the NHS facilitating CBT sessions in Stress, Mood management, Depression and others and I spend my Fridays working as a Trainee Counselling Psychologist for a Charity in Cirencester. I have experience in CBT, Person Centered Counselling, Psychodynamic perspectives, Gestalt therapy, TA, Mindfulness, art therapy and I am currently studying to be a Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
Sessions are weekly, and I charge £45 per 50 minute session for Individuals, £55 for couples and £45 for young people.
Online Counselling is also available via Skype for £40 per 50 minute session.
Concessions will be considered on an individual basis and are dependant on your circumstances.
