Dr Alpana Bose BSc, MRCP, MRCPsych, MDCH, FBCH

Background

I graduated with a medical degree and an intercalated BSc in Immunology from the Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical and Dental Schools in 2000. Since then I have gained experience in a wide range of specialties. I became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2003 and the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2018. A keen interest in the interaction between mental well-being and physical health led me to study hypnotherapy. I completed a Medical Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis at the London College of Clinical Hypnosis in 2014. Soon after obtaining my diploma I established a voluntary hypnotherapy clinic for the management of chronic pain in collaboration with the Pain Team at Great Western Hospital. I have also offered hypnotherapy sessions for members of staff for healthy eating and well-being. Inspired by the transformational and empowering results that I have observed, both professionally and personally, I am passionate about promoting the use of hypnotherapy within conventional health-care. In addition to my clinical work, I have taken an active role in research and teaching. I am on the teaching faculty at The London School of Communication and Clinical Hypnosis and have been the Medical Director for the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis since 2015.
